Officials & Verification Partners

SportMana recognises that sport is not only powered by players and coaches.

Referees, umpires, match officials, scorers, timekeepers, commissioners, technical officials and administrators play a critical role in ensuring that sport is fair, structured, credible and properly recorded.

SportMana is developed to include officials as recognised participants in the sporting ecosystem.

Officials can have their own Global Participant ID (GPID), participation record and Mana recognition profile.

Why Officials Matter

Officials contribute to sport through:

Match appointments

Tournament appointments

Competition oversight

Rules application

Reporting

Accreditation

Mentorship

Development of younger officials

Governance and compliance support

Their contribution is often long-term, valuable and under-recognized.

SportMana aims to change that.

Officials As Participants

Within SportMana, officials may be recognized as:

Referees

Umpires

Match Commissioners

Technical Officials

Scorers

Timekeepers

Assessors

Officials Coordinators

Tournament Officials

Disciplinary or Governance Officials

Each official may maintain one GPID and one sporting journey across multiple roles, organizations and seasons.

Officials As Trusted Verifiers

Officials are not only participants.

They can also support the verification of sporting activity.

When an official is appointed to a fixture or event, that official may help confirm that the event took place and that participants were involved.

This creates a stronger foundation for verified recognition.

Verified Mana

SportMana’s Mana Recognition System is designed to recognize participation, contribution, development and service.

For Mana to be credible, SportMana must distinguish between:

Self-reported participation

Club-confirmed participation

Official-verified participation

Organization-verified participation

Officials and their appointing organizations can play a key role in supporting verified Mana recognition.

Trusted Verification Partners

SportMana aims to work with organizations that appoint, manage or accredit officials.

These may include referee associations, umpire bodies, match official structures, league committees, school sport structures, federations and tournament organizers.

By working with Trusted Verification Partners, SportMana can strengthen the credibility of participant records, event records and Mana recognition.

One Person. One GPID. One Sporting Journey.

SportMana believes every person in sport deserves recognition.

That includes the people who officiate, govern, guide, support and protect the integrity of the game.
